Peace Week Youth Art Contest

Arkansas Peace Week Art contest is open to Arkansas students, 1st – 12th grade. Last year we had over 1,000 submissions from all over the state. Schools, teachers, faith groups and other youth organizations are encouraged to sponsor and guide students with their submissions.

Art should address the following theme:

  • What does peace mean to you? Depict a more peaceful community in your art entry.

Submissions will be judged on the basis of following criteria: understanding and implementation of the theme, uniqueness and artistic style.

Awards will be presented for 12 age groups: 1st grade through 12th grade:

1st Place winners in each category will receive $50
2nd Place winners in each category will receive $25
3rd Place winners in each category will receive $15

Finalist artwork will be displayed at the Arkansas State Capitol September 18 -23, 2023. Award winners will be announced at the Arkansas State Capitol on September 23.

Art must be two dimensional 8.5″x11″ paper, cardboard or stock.

Entries must be submitted and post marked by September 6, and received by September 9, 2023. For complete rules and to register for the contest please see our Online Registration Form. Art pieces must also be mailed with a printed copy of this entry form.
